2024 Tasmanian Open - Matt Nichols Memorial

It was with great pride, tinged with a little sadness, that the Tasmanian volleyball community rallied to honour and remember Matt Nichols. Kingborough Sports Centre was running at full capacity and much fun was enjoyed over the weekend. 

Volleyball Tasmania is running the 2024 Tasmanian Open Indoor Tournament in recognition of Matty Nichols, a valued member of the Tasmanian volleyball community who passed away too soon. Those who knew Matt will agree that he was one of those people who united others, would lend a hand to anyone and simply looked for all the good things in life; for both himself and his family.

Even if you never met Matty, come along anyway, bring your friends and have a great weekend of volleyball! There will be divisions for men's, women's and mixed. Teams will be seeded based on age and ability. Check out all results here: https://www.volleyballtasmania.com.au/games/

• Entry Fee: $180 per team

All teams please attend briefing at 8:30am prior to match start time of 9am. (unless travelling from the north)

Please note that no profit will be made from this event: all proceeds after expenses will be donated to the Cancer Council of Tasmania.
