'High Performance', is a program of the JDP tiered approach open to athletes in age groups from Grade 7 to Grade 12.
It is effectively the Tier 3, which means it is aiming at athletes willing to compete on the national stage (AYVC and AJVC), as well as playing senior local competition (Southern and Launceston league, and possibly the Tasmanian State League).
In this Tier, it is also expected that athletes take more responsibility and volunteer some of their time towards lower Tiers as assistant coaches when being asked. As part of the HP program, athletes have accumulated enough know how and theoretical understanding of the game to share it with the bigger program.
Finally, athletes part of this Tier are also expected to validate their Level 2 referee accreditation. While the cost is covered by the JDP, the athletes will need to attend an L2 course and be assessed by the refereeing director to have their accreditation validated.
