2024-25 Beach Season Announcement

Published Sun 22 Sep 2024

Hi everyone and welcome to the start of the 2024-25 Beach season

Firstly, for those of you who are not already aware, Josh Eickhoff (Hoff) has decided to step down from his role as President of the Beach Committee. We just wanted to say a huge thank you for all of his hard work the last few years with making sure the comps have run smoothly and for all his contributions behind the scenes. We expect big things from him this season now that he will be focusing entirely on playing ðŸ˜‰.

In terms of the organisation for the beach season and the running of the comps on a week-by-week basis, we have decided the remaining members of the committee will split the role, and we will not have a designated President for the foreseeable future. This means that any of your questions regarding entry or other issues can be directed at the Beach email address – beach@volleyballtasmania.com.au and any questions you have on the day of competitions can be directed to Brady, Josh (Jev), Ben or Sami.

Lastly, we have decided to make a slight change to the way that MVP votes are calculated and awarded. Only those playing in Division 1 will be eligible for the main MVP awards and there will be MVP’s in both men’s/women’s pairs and mixed pairs. This means that there will be 4 MVP’s in total (1 MVP woman from Women’s Pairs, 1 MVP women for Mixed pairs, 1 MVP man from Mens Pairs, and 1 MVP man from Mixed pairs.) This should hopefully give those who only play one day of each weekend more of an opportunity to compete for these awards. The masters competition will also have its own MVP votes, with winners receiving a small prize (likely of the drinkable kind!), so even if you don’t play any or the majority of the other rounds, you can still have a good chance of being crown Masters MVP!

Please see below the schedule for the 2024-25 season. We hope to have the Rev Sports events up for the whole year ASAP so that we can get game times/ rosters emailed out to participants the Friday night before each round!
