Volleyball Tasmania is delighted to announce the running of a Talent ID camp for the male competitors on the state. With the participation of Dave Preston, the Volleyroos national coach, the aim of the camp is get every male athlete in the state with the dream to represent Australia at the 2023 Brisbane Olympic Games to step forward and engage with Dave while learning about technique and tactics at the highest level. This camp will be the chance to go through intensive volleyball training for two full days, and bringing your skills and understanding of the game to the next level.
In addition to volleyball training sessions, athletes will go through some (non-intrusive) fitness testing, tactical and video analysis sessions as well as listening to Dave's experience in university and international volleyball.
When: Sunday 23rd of April and Monday 24th of April
Where: Elizabeth College gymnasium
Who: Any male volleyballer who has the dream of representing Australia at the 2032 Olympic Games. Target age groups: most likely born 2002 to 2010.
What to bring: playing gears, water bottle, and food for lunch.
Cost: $140
Details:
- 8 hours of Volleyball accross 2 days;
- 1 hour of Strength & Conditioning;
- 1 hour of technical and tactical analysis of the game of volleyball;
- 1 talk by Dave Preston, the Men Volleyroos head coach, on his experience as a university and international coach, as well as what it means to have a volleyball career project;
Registration opens Monday, 20th of February, and closes Friday, 31st of March.
