Boss Volleyball Club claim the division 1 double:

After a dominant season, where they finished minor premiers and advanced straight to the grand final, the Boss men defeated Van Diemens 3-0 in the final. This was the club's first title at this level in 5 years, last winning the division 1 men's Autumn Southern League title on 1/7/2013.

Boss were also victorious in straight sets over Van Diemens in the division 1 women's final. Not only did they exact revenge for their 5-set loss in last season's final, but they cemented themselves as the team to beat, by winning their 3rd title from the past 4 seasons.

Van Diemens Volleyball Club claim the division 2 double:

The Van Diemens women were always favourites starting this match, after a near perfect season. However, if anyone was going to stop them, it was Phoenix Firebirds, who were playing in their 5th consecutive final at this level. Nevertheless, it wasn't to be, with Van Diemens extinguishing all hope in an epic 3rd set to clinch the match 3-0.

The Van Diemens men needed to defeat the past two finalists (Phx Thunderbolts Spring 2017 and Boss Hawks Autumn 2017) to secure their spot in the grand final. Unfortunately, due to a clash with the University Games on the Gold Coast their opponent, Zuno UTAS, weren't able to field their full line up and the final was a rather one sided affair with Van Diemens claiming the 3-0 victory.

Congratulations to all finalists, especially the reigning premiers:

Div1 women: Boss (MVP Erica Rice - Van Diemens)

Div2 women: Van Diemens (MVP Megan Kruijver - Van Diemens)

Div1 men: Boss (MVP Jan Jansen - Boss)

Div2 men: Van Diemens (MVP Bo Horton - Van Diemens)
